We got a no water call from a customer way out in the country. The Ranches power source, control box and pressure switch were all in good working condition. So, we pulled the pump out to check for broken wires. The wires were good, however the pump motor showed heat damage and bluing on the stainless steel cover. That pump motor was cooked from running 240 power around the clock.
We installed the new pump motor and turned on the power only to discover 2 major leaks around the well head. A brass valve and the sand filter both spraying about 2 gallons per minute. These leaks had been ongoing for several months as indicated by the lime and manganese crust on the brass valve. The problem was not noticed because the well was more than 1,000 feet from the house. Subsequently a pond had been swelling up next to the well at the customers expense.
A quick well inspection can save you $$$ and keep your well on the up and up. Give Ben a call: (530) 983-5758 https://terrierpump.com
